The Odd Fellows Association of Pennsylvania originally started The Middletown
Home as "The Odd Fellows Home" in 1875. This organization has provided
excellence in care and services to the elderly. At The Middletown Home, we
not only help Odd Fellow members and their associates, but also any elderly who
would desire to be provided by our services and be a part of our community.
Any admission needing support through the Odd Fellows Association must
specifically apply through their order for application to the home or additional
supportive services.
The Odd Fellows Association was started in England in the 1700s. The
association was created to help the elderly who needed care in the absence of a
social security income. It is a world wide organization. The female
members belong to an association called the Rebekahs. Special discounts all
across the world are eligible to Odd Fellow and Rebekah members. Because
of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security Income in this last century there has
been a declining role of such organizations like the Odd Fellows. In the
future where the funds for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, may no
longer exist the increased for organizations such as the Odd Fellows may once
again increase. |
