Hi! I am Cathy Kirkham the CEO/Administrator at The Middletown Home. I consider myself a New Cumberland resident, across the river, because that is where I resided for many years and my grandparents resided and worked in their medical practice for over fifty years. I started working for The Middletown Home in July of 2005. Before coming to The Middletown Home, I worked as the Executive Director at The Bridges at Brookline in Juniata County for a little over three years. The Bridges at Brookline is also a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), which is slightly smaller than the operations at The Middletown Home (CCRC). Before working as an administrator at these two locations, I worked in long-term care for over fifteen years in various positions. My first job in long-term care was at Bethany Village as a nursing assistant. My experience at Bethany has much to do with why I serve as an administrator today. I am currently a Master’s candidate of Health Administration at the Pennsylvania State University. My educational background consists of a Master's Certificate in Long-Term Care from the Pennsylvania State University, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Long-Term Care Administration from York College of Pennsylvania, and an Associates Degree from Pikes Peak Community College, Colorado Springs, CO. I am a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. I am a former Army Sergeant who served as lab technician for five years active duty and three years on reserve duty. I am also a musician that plays many different instruments and have been a member of the Piano Guild. I currently play the piano, organ, and flute regularly at several United Methodist churches. I am married to a wonderful husband who has been my best friend and mentor since 1993. We have a dog named "Herbert" and cat named "Marbles" who loves to visit the residents of The Middletown Home. |
